Automated Simulations and Epyx
Automated Simulations was a game developer and publisher during computer gaming's pioneer days. Along with such companies as On-line Systems (Sierra), Adventure International, Broderbund, Avalon Hill, Synape and Sirrius, Automated Simulations was responsible for building out the market for computer games.
In 1981, Automated Simulations introduced the Epyx line of computer video games. These games were billed as Action game for the thinking game playter and many were early examples of the real-time strategy genre.
Following the huge sucees of some of the Epyx games, Automated Simultions simy adopted Epyx as thier company name.
